Welcome to H-ITT : |
|
| |
|
Imagine a course where every student attends and pays attention everyday. This idea, once the product of wishful thinking, is now possible with H-ITT. We sell low cost remote transmitters and distribute high-quality feature-packed free software for the instructor. Each remote has a unique ID number allowing the instructor to know how each student answered every question.
The software instantly grades the responses and exports the results to any spreadsheet program. Have students work together on a question to stimulate class discussions, or have them work independently at their own pace on a series of test or exam questions. Robust enough to handle 500+ students in one class. Issue every student on your campus a remote, track their performance across the campus. Join the numerous universities around the world benefiting from this technology today.
The all digital campus is here! Also useful for: conferences, continuing education, standardized testing, game shows, focus groups, market research and anywhere else you may need to "poll an audience". |

Each student purchases a hand-held transmitter, similar to a TV remote control, which has a unique ID number as shown above. With the remote control, each student responds to the instructor's multiple-choice questions by aiming it at wall-mounted receivers, as shown in the illustration below. The receivers collect the signals and send them to a Windows or Macintosh PC through either the COM or USB port that is running the H-ITT acquisition program. The H-ITT acquisition program displays a box on the computer screen that is also projected onto a large screen for the entire class to see. Within the each box is displayed the remote ID number of each remote indicating that the response has been successfully collected.

A sophisticated, secure, two-way, multi-level-redundant, error-correcting communication protocol is employed to ensure that no class time is wasted during response collection and that no responses are lost. The transmitters use standard IR (infra-red) transmissions and will not interfere with: wireless ethernet (Wi-Fi, 803.11a, 803.11b), bluetooth, cell phones, pagers, cordless microphones, cordless phones, or any other wireless technology that uses RF (radio frequency) signals. In addition, the remotes are robust and their small intuitive design makes them easy to use and store in bookbags or pockets. This allows students to concentrate on the course material without being distracted with complicated technological gadgetry.
The H-ITT Acquisition program instantaneously summarizes the data and displays the class responses in histogram form, as shown in the illustration below. This instantaneous assessment of student comprehension enables the instructor to confidently move forward with the material or step back and review, closely tailoring the lecture to the students' needs.

Do you use Excel or some other spreadsheet to keep track of your grades? The H-ITT software was designed from the ground up to be able to transfer the students points to any spreadsheet program via the clipboard. The familiar cut and paste operation is simple. Simply display the student points in the format you want in the analyzer. Click "To clipboard" and in Excel press Ctrl-V or Edit->Paste.
